Fall Tour Schedule!

Hey folks!

As usual, Justin, Lauren, and I been receiving questions from lots of fans about where we’ll be playing this fall. Thank you for your interest! We have a pretty crazy schedule, mostly due to the fact that we 1) want to play some shows on the west coast and 2) are booked to play an amazing event on November 5 and 6: the Memphis Comic and Fantasy Convention. Our schedule is built on the wacky premise that we’ll be getting to the west coast and back to Memphis between October 13 and November 5. Unfortunately, this results in a few cities being skipped — but seriously, we’re the most prolific tourers in wizard rock, so we don’t feel bad about it. If we’re missing you this time around, we’ll see you soon!

I’ve been booking shows like a crazy person over the last few weeks, and — we’re facing the same challenge we’ve faced over the last year or so: libraries with little to no budget. About half the tour is booked; another 15 to 20% is very close to being booked. That leaves a good number of dates that are looking at least a little grim. We need help! If you live in a city that’s not booked yet and you have an idea for a venue (your house qualifies as a potential venue!), please email me at thewhompingwillows@gmail.com!

Here’s the schedule! Please note that specifics will be provided in the next week or so! Keep checking the tour page on this website for more details.

UPDATE: Since posting this blog, our schedule has been filled out quite a bit! To see our current tour schedule for the fall, please navigate on over to the Tour page!

By the way, if you’re a Harry Potter fan and/or a Nerdfighter, you’re probably aware that this community lost an amazing member to cancer: Esther Earl. We’ll be raising money to help her family pay for her medical expenses. To this end, we’ll have a donation jar on our merch table at all shows. Please bring money to donate to this worthy and meaningful cause!

Stephanie: We love playing at RISD! Hopefully we can set up another show there soon!

Jessica: We’d love that! Justin and I generally try to stay away from sweets on the road though. Healthy goodies would be appreciated. 😀

Natasha: We ALWAYS play in NC. 😀 It’s one of our favorite places to play, and we’ll probably be back there in the spring AND summer! Our fall tour show will probably end around 8:30, so you’d probably just be able to catch about half of my set. 🙁

Kelli: Agh! We’re playing at a huge comic and fantasy convention on the 5th or 6th — they haven’t finalized the details for the show yet. Sadly I don’t think it’ll be until the night of the 5th at the earliest!

On 11/9 you have to go to akron and party at squibby’s house since its been over a year since I’ve seen you and played beerball!

  • By Chelsea, September 11, 2010 @ 4:44 am

On 11/9 I kind of hope you guys come to Columbus, as it would be easier for me to get to that show. xD

  • By Becca, September 11, 2010 @ 5:24 am

On 11/9 I really hope you find somewhere in Akron. It’s about two hours closer to me than Columbus. I would totally offer up my house, but I don’t really live near Akron… ):

  • By Jessica J, September 11, 2010 @ 7:02 pm

as far as healthy goodies, are there anything you guys don’t like, like certain fruit or nuts, or things like that?

  • By Erin, September 12, 2010 @ 6:34 am

I wish I could make this tour but my school is making that really difficult. 🙁 You guys should consider coming to Columbia, SC sometime! We’re nice! I swear!

  • By Sara Melnick, September 13, 2010 @ 7:04 pm

Are there facebook events for these yet?

  • By matt, September 14, 2010 @ 1:29 am

Sara: Not yet, but they should be up in the next few days!

  • By Christine, September 17, 2010 @ 6:42 am

Are you going to be at the NYC Wizard Rock Festival? (If you are, will you be selling Armoured Bearcub shirts? I’m trying to decide whether to buy it online or on tour.)

  • By matt, September 19, 2010 @ 3:07 pm

Hey Christine! I’ll be at the NYCWRF, but I’m not sure if I’ll be selling Armoured Bearcub shirts there. However, we’ll definitely be selling them at the Sidewalk show on October 14!

    When are details coming? (:

  • By Jaine, September 19, 2010 @ 8:03 pm

Is there any news on how the LA show is going?

  • By Catherine, September 20, 2010 @ 10:18 pm

For the DC/Virginia show, you could try the College of William and Mary. They have a pretty large Harry Potter club called Wizards and Muggles.

  • By Joanna, September 20, 2010 @ 11:15 pm

Poo, Rochester is just a wee bit too far :[
Possibly I can convince my mother:P

  • By Hannah, September 21, 2010 @ 1:33 am

I will be able to see the Orlando show, but I don’t know how to get to Allie’s house. Any details?

  • By matt, September 21, 2010 @ 2:08 am

    Charline: VERY SOON! 😀

Jaine: Poorly! We’ll definitely book something, but right now I’m having a lot of trouble securing a venue. Wish me luck!

Hannah: Details will be posted very soon! You’ll have to email me for the address, so feel free to do that now: thewhompingwillows@gmail.com 🙂

  • By Amanda Rossetti, September 21, 2010 @ 12:38 pm

I can get you into a library about 30 minuts north of Pittsburgh but it can not be on the 10th, the 8th or 9th works though. I’ll e-mail you with details if you want.

  • By matt, September 21, 2010 @ 3:42 pm

Amanda: Sadly, the 10th is our only available date for Pittsburgh. 🙁

  • By Haley, October 11, 2010 @ 3:25 am

For the Portland Halloween show, are we allowed to wear costumes? 😀

  • By matt, October 13, 2010 @ 2:55 am

Haley: Yes, of course! Wait till you see Lauren’s costume!
